Dentistry at Harwood is proud to welcome new patients covered by the CDCP program.
At Dentistry at Harwood, we believe everyone deserves access to quality dental care. We offer a warm, welcoming environment and a team of experienced dentists and hygienists dedicated to your oral health. Here's why we're a great fit for your CDCP needs:
The CDCP is available to eligible Canadian residents who do not have access to private dental insurance and have a family income below the program threshold. Some people with provincial, territorial, or federal government dental coverage may still qualify, depending on their circumstances.
Applications for the 2026–2027 benefit year are currently open. Coverage and any patient co-payment depend on your adjusted family net income and the services provided.
You will receive a welcome package from Sun Life with your coverage details and start date once you are enrolled.
The CDCP helps pay a portion of the cost of eligible oral health services when recommended by an oral health provider. Coverage depends on the service, your clinical needs, and whether preauthorization is required.
| Type of Service | Coverage Details (Examples) |
|---|---|
| Diagnostic and Preventive Care | Exams, x-rays, cleaning (scaling), fluoride applications, sealants. |
| Basic Services | Fillings, root canal treatments, treatments for gum disease, and extractions. |
| Major Services | Crowns and removable dentures may be covered; some major services require preauthorization. |
| Anesthesia or Sedation | Nitrous oxide, oral sedation, or both together; some sedation services require preauthorization. |
| Orthodontic Services | Not available yet under the CDCP. A future orthodontic benefit will require preauthorization. |
This is not an exhaustive list. Coverage is determined by the CDCP’s rules, your clinical needs, and whether preauthorization is required.
The CDCP covers part of the cost of eligible services at established fees. Depending on your income, you may be responsible for a co-payment and any additional charges if your provider’s fees exceed CDCP rates or if you choose services not covered by the plan.
